They have not been forgotten... There are a strong pipeline of players..but its just that they purposely squeeze the end of the pipe to make it small thus not allowing the players to get out.
ReplyDeletedamn stupid thing to comment from both. no.1 courts young lions is NOT doing well at all no2 what about out other teams in the s league that are doing well? then why have the sleague.. looks like Raddy MUST go.. looks like Zainudin Noordin n all the old fogeys in FAS MUST go...
ReplyDeleteRaddy's just being realistic about the quality of player development at sleague clubs. Name the last local-born player even close to Hariss Harun's standard to emerge from the clubs.
ReplyDeletei agree to the above msg totally that we do not have a local player close to Hariss' standard. The reason is this.
ReplyDeleteI realised that we not only forgotten about all the S-league clubs, we also forgetten our NFL Div 1,2,3. We also forgotten our Universities, Polytechnics, Secondary Schools.
Development isn't just the clubs' job. Its right down to the schools. If FAS wants a good talent pool with quality and quantity, they have to STAND UP n TAKE CHARGE of the quality of the players in NOT ONLY the NFAs, Junior COEs, but also to target school level. Like this, our talent pool will increase in QUANTITY n QUALITY.
The plight of our local schools' football is scary. There are very very good schools, a handful. What about the others? "Companies" are manipulating and monopolizing the market and sending coaches of Substandard Quality (Some even without coaching certification) to schools who have lesser budget for the sport. Certain schools even have players who see different coaches week in week out. If the MOE, CCAB, School Sports Council and even the FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE allows things to happen at that level, why talk about the development of football if there isnt consistency.
Why make coaches take Coaching courses at an exuberant fee and get paid peanuts, vying with the companies for coaching opportunities when at the end of the day, they send unqualified coaches?
Maybe its time someone dig out the ugly football scene from the Grassroots and schools level so that it can help development for football to provide a larger talent pool for our S-league standard to increase, for our NFL standard to increase and of cos our NATIONAL TEAM standard to increase.
Seriously it's time for Raddy to go. Apart from the Tiger Cup victories in his early days, his tenure as Singapore coach doesn't bring in any progress and we can't even qualify for Asian Cup and FIFA rankings falling to a new low!
ReplyDeleteAlos, Zainudin should go too. Things aren't going well since Mah Bow Tan was the FAS president and people independant from the PAP should head FAS. Let's not forget that these people ruined S League by bringing in foreign clubs!
