For The Record...
"In an interview with Yahoo! Singapore, Zainudin (Nordin, FAS President) reiterated that the S-league will not become a "poorer cousin" once the LionsXII start their Malaysia Cup campaign."

阿隆。。好自为知!! (Ah Long, Behave yourself!! )

0 view(s)

That shocking turn of event still etched my mind whenever I recalled it - that Noh Alam Shah's sudden outburst at last year's Cup Final at the JBS.

Happened to come to know that his ban has been reduced to seven months (see the picture above.)

Let's move on and stop getting ourselves involved in any discussion regarding this as I felt it's pointless, since we need to proceed from this juncture, somewhere and somehow.

As for "Ah Long", Good for you and I sincerely hope this incident is a good lesson learnt and please strictly bear this in mind that you are a role-model to many kids whom look up on you for that killer instinct in front of goal, thus whatever you do is subjected to public scrutiny.

Waiting to see you back in action on and after 13th July..

some thoughts after the batte of "disappointed"

0 view(s)
Shot from the media desk

I'm not sure should whosoever be responsible for making whosoever to believe that whosoever was meant to be that good?

Confusing, eh??

Well, that was not what I meant to do but having came back from Bedok Stadium, where I saw Geylang United beat Sengkang Punggol 2-0, that thought just came to me.

Prior the start of the season, both teams went through a major overhaul in their team list, by having some so-called decent players signed by both teams, to an extend the Eagles were even touted to be title-contender and Sengkang was geared up for the big time.

But in the end, what do we have?

Save for their last three outing, Geylang failed to live up to their promise and Sengkang hold the title of having scoring the least number of goals as the season concluded the first-third of the campaign.

Sad to see this happened...

Believe it or not.. This construction site, just outside Jalan Besar Stadium, used to be the training pitch of the national team.

The existing building used to be ChristChurch Secondary school and after the school was relocated years back, the National Football Academy took over the facilities till recent times when the People Association decided that this is the place to be when they decided to shift from the Old Kallang Airport.

From DELL,..back from JBS

0 view(s)
Coach Gerd Zeise of New Riadant addressing the media, with his counterpart, SAFFC's Richard Bok on his left

Coach Richard Bok refused to blame on the fatigue (of their last game against Super Reds) that drained his players after their AFC Cup fixture against New Radiant of Maldives, that ended one all at the JBS.

"Credits to New Radiant" as the SAFFC coach lauded his opponents' performance, while facing an eager media that were ready to grill him.

"They looked more energized and the desire to get something out of the game, as they promised on Monday (post-match press conference).

"We had created so many chances that we can't put it away" said the Warriors coach.

Earlier on (I was late into the press conference room), the German coach of New Radiant, Gerd Zeise attributed the result of tonight's result to the altering of the tactics as he explained, when asked about the night's outcome as compared to last time the two met in Male.

Can't really scribe much out of the visiting coach, as it seems always the case that whenever a S.League club or the Lions are playing locally, most questions would targeted at the local team's coaches, despite the presence of some Maldivians journalists (they were also present when Victory SC were here weeks ago).

I can't help but have that feeling that sometimes visiting coaches were being neglected, although, Coach Zeise did shared with us how he felt about the referee's performance in a jest manner.

(P.s: typing this blog on my DELL lappy, my only means to the WWW now, goood progress is underway to get the new desktop ready, hopefull soon.. Good Luck to me :D)

Slowing down a bit, without any choice...

0 view(s)
Nope, it's doesnt spell the END yet, but it just that the desktop that has been serving me well till the wee-hours of this morning had decided enough is enough.. Yes it's gone most likely (given the typical lifespan of a desktop averaging FOUR years plus or so..)

As such, I might have to slow things down a bit till everything is clear again

video

(Sorry for the orientation of the clip, didn't realized it till it's late)

Here's the symptom: Whenever I press the ON button, the CDRW's LED will remained permanent lit (as illustrated in the videoclip) and at the meantime, there's this "wizzle" sound generated from the CPU.

Initially, I thought it's the CDRW that caused the problem, but having isolated it didn't solved the problem and the "wizzle" sound still remained.

Only later, when I unplugged the power cable to my floppy drive ("A" drive), the "wizzle" sound is gone and concluded at that point might be the floppy drive (since my boot-up sequence is from "A" to "C"-Hardisk, then "D"-DVD-Rom and "E"-CDRW).

Sad to say, the problem didn't solve at all when I try to replace a floppy drive, as at this stage, it's the LED of the replaced floppy remained permanent lit!

By this time, I had already unplugged any peripherals (except my video and RJ45 cable) from my mobo.. So what could I concluded from this?

It was only few hours earlier, i'm still using it as per normal.

Anyone with a solution or explaination would be greatly appreaciated and please feel free to log them in the comments.. thanks

"Unfortunately"...

0 view(s)

I recently came to realize how the word -"Unfortunate" is so versatile in addressing some knotty issues.

So for this instance, I would say it's unfortunate for me to realize such appeal for this "that thing" case is successfully appealed
Unfortunately, the accused was threatened to obey what his team manager ordered, if not, he will be send back home.

But, unfortunately, the accused just don't have the guts to report this incident to the next higher level instantly and resulted this unfortunate incident to happen.
What an unfortunate thing to happen.. really unfortunate.. :(

Shame on you lot, for those guilty ones at Woodlands Stadium...

Yeah.. Shame on you lot!!

Imaging an injured player currently fighting for his life now in the hospital, being subjected to some crude, low-class insulting remarks by some idiots at the stands.

For those of you, who were guilty of making some remarks, you ought to be SHAME for yourself.. I certainly hope you aren't a parent of some kids, if not, you will definitely regret for what you did just now at Woodlands Stadium when the day come your kids make such remark on someone laying motionless on the ground.

Credits to the stadium announcer and the relevant officers for calming down the situation..

May the injured player - Park Tae Won get well soon.. My sincere thoughts and regards to Park, his family and Woodlands Wellington FC.

It is a sad day

0 view(s)

It is a sad day for football or the whole local sporting fraternity, if you do, as well, consider the ugly spat between shuttler Ron Susilo and his former fianceè Lee Jiawei.

First, many fans have to resign to the reality that they will have to fork out more to enjoy top-notch football on television (personally, I don't consider terrestrial channels free either since there's the annual TV licence fee that tagged with your property tax, remember?)

Blame for the small consumer size that we have that we are being charged at a rate we consider a "rip-off".

In the spirit of the "free market", the MDA (the relevant authority) stand firm on its "non-intervention" policy, despite a huge public outcry.

Yet, the sad thing is that they are still plenty of guys willing to pay that ridiculous subscription, just to meet their "temptation" (see the "cut-out"picture above).

I'm sorry but I would say these lots are PATHETIC and I hope they aren't the ones also complain about the high rising living costs.

Second, pertaining that ugly spat that grabbed the headline of "The Sunday Times".

I can't be bother to talk in depth about the "supposedly" golden couple, but rather because these two national athletes are roped in through the controversial "Foreign Talent Scheme" that they are ought to be accounted for whatever they are doing, publicly or even privately.

"SHOW ME THE MONEY", screamed the daily's headline, that rarely spotlighted on local sporting scene, would have shocked everyone in this island, who last heard the two split amicably.

Not surprise if there are those "hard-core xenophobic" rolled up and tossed the page or shredded into pieces and bang the table on such folliness that occurred.

Some must be pissed at the monetary rewards handed out for achieving those sporting glorys by those naturalized citizens.

It's not just about sun, sand and seas

2 view(s)
Picture from "Wiki"

I think that's the impressions of the Maldives, whenever people mentioned about this chain of islands off India are the SUN, SAND and the SEA.

No doubt, it's a dream paradise for all holiday makers.

But I would suggest this next time if you are there, take some time off the sun-bathing and catch some football action on the islands.

Draw this conclusion after I saw Victory SC, one of the Maldivians clubs in the AFC Cup competition gave Home United a hard fight at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Normally, any foreign team played on this artificial surface of JBS would find it hard to get used to it, but not the Maldivians.

It was surprise to see how well they adapted to the surface and even took the lead first! (not mentioned the blooper by Lions' custodian Lionel Lewis at the nearpost.. Ooops).

But the home team picked themselves up and claimed the victory at the end of the day.

PICTURES FROM JBS

The coaches - (L-R) Mr PN Sivaji of Home United, Mr Mauroof Ahmed of Victory SC

The visiting coach, Mr Mauroof Ahmed kicked start the press conference by saying it was a good game and satisfied with the team's performance and credited the credible display due to the presence of the Maldivian president at the stadium, who met the team prior the match and his words of encouragement had helped to lift the spirit of the team.

Although, he stop-shorted on commenting the probe by the AFC regarding two of his players being approached for "that thing", as the investigation is on-going.

Home United coach Mr Sivaji was delighted with the result, commented that it was a tough game and praised the Maldivians for playing good, high-intensive football , while his main concern would be the fitness of his players, having to play as many as three games on a roll in a space of a week..

Rams Gutted...

0 view(s)
Thought should have this post updated last night but it was late and tired after reaching home from Woodlands at around 11.30pm.

The rain was pouring prior the start of the match between Woodlands and Tampines that the referee decided to push the kick-off to 8pm.

Anyway, the match concluded without the repeat of last year's "walk-out" (Thank Goodness)

But I just can't help but feel sorry for the Woodlands Rams, for the second time in four days, undeserving drop some crucial points.

At CCK last Saturday, the last 15 minutes of madness saw Woodlands threw any at least a point against the defending champions - SAFFC.

While last night, while they thought they might be leap-frogged to fourth position but only to see Tampines levelled the scores with the last kick of the game from their badly exposed left of their defensive wall.

Hard luck men but these are the mistakes you guys shouldn't made... Bear that in mind :P
