Need not further explain my point. Look like "that thing" has really done us a great deed from denying us from joing the Asian elite club tournament.
What a shame and the "BLACK SOCKS" are for those who really played us out.. KNN..
(P.S: the Black Socks were being used as in refer to the BLACK SOX scandal that rocked the US baseball scene in 1919)
Our teams belong to the AFC level, and even then we cannot even win it. Less said abt the AFC Champions League
ReplyDeleteI beg the difference, I think our clubs need and should play on a higher level for the exposure.
ReplyDeleteIf Vietnam can have teams in ACL, I don't see why we, being three-time Asean Champions, can't make it to that level..

ReplyDeleteNt saying it did nt cost us but we were hancaipped even w/o it as S-league were nt in the ACL during the period 2004 2008 so nt surprised we were sloted in the playoff first as we have to prove the league first
Afterall AFC were almost certain to give 14 of the 16 spots in the East to the JACK leagues from the rumors coming out
It leave only 1 spot btwn S-league & Indonesia Liga & AFC sided w/ the BIG NATIONS for in the West Qatar, Syria & Uzb had to give way to India of all league
Nt certain India w/ their league only setup last year (W/ AFC aid) cld have obtained the needed grade & UAE also failed the Pro League grade (Going by AFC statement of pro contract)as the UAE fractions r still fighting if Pro football consided Ismalic
So it may have been a great excuse & as written in the past - There will always be excuses by local orgainsation (Like the likes of SPH)on the whys when they do nt wnt to support local football.
In this case it is AFC as going by their grading, UAE & India may find it hard to get into ACL
