[Telegram Chat] - BUILD THAT CONDUIT FROM UTR! TOWNHALL!

To begin with, we have to admit that "Singapore football is in a state of stagnation" as a way to acknowledge and have a consensus on the problem that will allow us to start from a common ground.

I believe one of the keys lies in making those in attendance for the upcoming Unleash The Roar! Townhall session to feel at ease at the venue, enabling them to contribute constructively to the cause, as some individuals may feel nervous and hesitant to speak up openly, unlike when they are typing on a keyboard.

MODERATING - A KEY FACTOR IN TOWNHALL

This is why I think both the moderator in the townhall, if any, and the agenda of the day play a crucial role during the whole event.

Some fans suggested the scheduling of the townhall session on a Thursday (25/5) night at Suntec City can be a challenging one, as compared to having it on a weekend.

Additionally, part of the proceedings included updating the floor on the progress of the key UTR! programs. We are uncertain of how much time would be allocated to these updates and left for the session to allow meaningful and constructive exchanges of ideas.

It is therefore not rocket science that the moderator is going to be responsible to ensure that everything runs smoothly on the night with as little disruption as possible.

TRUST CONDUIT BUILDING SESSION

Ultimately, the session should also be a trust-building one by establishing a conduit between the masses and the decision-makers to uplift the local game from its current state of stagnation.

Currently, there is no such conduit in place that encourages the exchange of ideas among all stakeholders, resulting in numerous misgivings and misunderstandings we have witnessed so far.

Whatever it is, for me, it is about going there with an open mindset without any expectations (if my registration is approved). After all, we cannot expect to achieve anything significantly positive from just one townhall session like this.

But if a conduit, as mentioned, is able to establish to ensure and encourage the exchange of ideas and lead to any improvement of local football in a tangible way, it shall be seen as an invigorating starting point.
