Balestier Khalsa are on route to a possible Cup double glories

Balestier Khalsa overcame a two-goal deficit to level the game on aggregate and forced the game to extra time before triggering the penalty decider to knock Hougang Utd out of the Cup to clinch the first berth of the "Final Four".

The outcome of this series also gave birth to a nickname for any match featuring both - the "Pinball Derby".

Thank goodness that the Tigers were in the white outfits to allow shots at ISO3200.

The 2011 Cup holders filled up the last slot of the "Final Four" with a 5-2 aggregate win over Geylang International at Bishan Stadium.

Unlike the previous three quarter-final affairs, the Protectors-Eagles clash was a much tepid contest with scrappy plays dominating a large part of the game that ended 3-2 in favour of the hosts.

The Lions prepare for the crucial Asian Cup qualifiers against Oman with coach Bernd Stange putting the team to the drills and seeing for the first time what the German coach preaches - "passing and dominating" football.

Bernd Stange's "passing and dominating" game worked only in our own half, as we struggled to make a breakthrough to the opponents' half for the lack of latch to do so.

The Lions remain at the foot of the table after two losses with the Omanis on a 100% record at the top.

Most of the shots were taken using 70-200mm non-IS lenses with the aperture at f2.8, and 1/1250 at ISO 3200 (should have lowered to 2500 to reduce the noise). Appreciate the difference as compared to the "basic kit" lenses in the past in terms of the depth and the focus using "single dot".

Anyway, the Protectors met with some resilience display from the developmental squad who were buoyed by their last week's win over Tanjong Pagar Utd.

Unfortunately, Jordan Webb's second-half goal ensured Home Utd collected all points before the league adjourned for another break.
