[25th Canon Lion City Cup] Schoolboy Final marred by controversial decision in Corinthians' night

The moment when the Corinthians clinched the Cup
Schoolboy football final and that was what you got from those boys of SC Corinthians and PSV Eindhoven in the last match of the 25th Canon Lion City Cup.

After all, these kids are barely or under 16 years of age and little would one expect the skills of Neymar or Van Persie to be paraded by them (in a few years time, maybe) at this instance.

Much was expected from the Corinthians for having romped into the final on a clean sheet.

One of the many heroics by the PSV custodian
However, just before the Brazilians would be able to showcase some of fluency in the match, they found themselves down to 10 men early in the first half (due to a foul on the PSV 'keeper Mike van de Meulenhof that resulted the sending off of Gustavo Franca).

The sudden tweak resulted the Corinthians to defence deep and exploited opportunities during the breaks.

Leo Jaba scored the first goal of the night
Their efforts were paid off in early in the second half when Leo Jaba struck in the 43rd minute to taint the brilliance of van de Meulenhof who had been outstanding during the match.

Nonetheless, the Brazilians decided that defending of that slender lead prioritised over the urgency to seek a bigger buffer and paid the price late in the game with an equaliser from Karim Bannani to force the game into penalties.

PSV (in darker outfit) did have their chances in the game
The result saw the South Americans clinched the victory on a 5-3 scoreline that was marred by the controversial decision of the referee to order the retaking of the last Corinthians' penalty.
