Lions and Cubs to leverage on MP & Silva in a Massive Bonanza

Barely weeks after making their presence the north across the Causeway where they signed a record-breaking deal with the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) (source 1,2). MP & Silva, the renowned media rights distributors brokered another deal, but on a smaller scale, with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) on the south side of the bridge as well.

This announcement was made this afternoon at a ceremony held at the FAS headquarters at the Jalan Besar Stadium with Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Mr Lawrence Wong graced the occasion in full business attire to signify the importance of the event.\

AGREEMENT VALUE AT MORE THAN $25 MILLION

Outfitted in a similar fashion with the guest of honour, Mr Zainudin Nordin, the FAS president was joined by Mr Andrea Radrizzani, the founding partner of MP & Silva in breaking the news to those in attendance of this newly-minted partnership for the next six years from 2015 to 2020.

Under the new partnership, MP & Silva will play "a major role in the development of Singapore football over the next six years, covering the global media rights to FAS’ national and age-group teams, sponsorship rights, and international events for the Singapore Lions and National age group squads. The agreement is valued at more than S$25 million over this period." spelled in the media statement issued by FAS shortly after the announcement.

MAXIMIZING THE COMMERCIAL VALUES OF THE LIONS

Besides the above-mentioned, consultancy services on various matters will be provided by the media agency to FAS in areas like maximizing the commercial values of the Singapore National Teams with opportunities to be explored by leveraging on the extensive network of MP & Silva, whose portfolio includes major sporting events such as football's FIFA World Cup 2018 and 2022, basketball's NBA, motor racing's Formula One, etc. since their establishment back in 2004.

"This partnership underlines the FAS’ seriousness about developing football commercially while engaging the community and youths. It will also help us to ensure that our elite programmes are enhanced through this partnership. We look forward to the close collaboration with MP & Silva in the coming years." said Mr Zainudin in the same statement.

Echoing the similar sentiments of the FAS supremo was Mr Radrizzani, whom both know each other mutually for a while as revealed during the announcement.

We appreciate their confidence in our abilities to develop an integrated approach to turn Singapore Football into a strong brand name and inspire fans across the country, we are very proud of this holistic approach in this partnership with the FAS and we look forward to applying our robust knowledge in media rights and developing new commercial opportunities." said the Italian.
