Instant Reaction : Singapore 5-0 Cambodia

Agu's opener...(ripped off PC) Ok..ok.. 5-0, I did not expected that as the talk was that the Cambodians were gonna packed their boys in the box when they played against us.. 5-0 is a good result as least morale-boosting in this sense but they jolly well know the next fixtures against the Burmese and Indonesians will be the real test of character. Well done and good luck, Boys..

Instant Reaction: Though din make thru but it was a perfect end ....

FIFA website shown the stats as at the stoppage time Game over... It's another end of the chapter following this win at Beirut. Cheers boys, at least we won the last game and being the first team to score against the Uzbeks. Take this as a good learning curve and I'm pretty sure that few years down the road, this current crop of players will be enshrined being one of the best teams played for the country.. (after all, we have never been come to this far, right?) See you guys back home :)

Instant Reaction: Thank you to 22,500....

.. of you at the National Stadium just now, for the presumptive last game at the Grand Ol' Dame of Kallang. Many Thanks to Ms Lee TienSin for taking this shot at the doorstep of "Press Booth No.2" (Wish I could have the black tag as a souvenir) Unfortunately, the gallant Hassan Sunny in goal was not enough to stop the Saudis from confirming their spot in the final round of the World Cup qualifiers at our own expenses (those of you who saw the game should know why and how..) With the exclusive last goal-scorer at the National Stadium fallen to Ahmed Al Fraidi. SOME PICTURES FROM "SILVER" ROOM "We knew it will be a very hard game against Singapore, especially after they scored three goals against Uzbekistan (in their last home game)." said Saudi coach Nassir Johar (wearing a cap), through his translator on his right. "And they made the Uzbeks suffered a lot before wining the game 1-0 at Tashkent. "We were tactically well-prepared, having know

Instant Reaction: Nothin' to shame about, Lions

Really... there's nothing to shame. You guys did yourself a great favour to restore the pride of the team. Nothing to shame about, just bad luck and the Uzbeks simply expoited it. You were so close to savage a draw, but this is one of the games you guys out there should walk away with your heads up. Hope to see you carry on with this great performance when you are back in town for the Saturday game against the Saudis. Well done boys, you made a fool out of the Uzbeks... :)

Instant reaction: the thrashing by Uzbeks

No doubt, it is setback for the dream. The Lions were sent crashing back to earth by the much superior Uzbekistan side. But isn't that football ? Before the "FLOODGATE" open.... Hey, I'm not finding any excuse and I know some of you, sceptics out there, already have your knives sharpen to prove your "incompetence" theory had correctly predicted the downfall, that was aided by the fact the game was shown live on television for all to witness that. Looking at a bigger picture, the Lions were given a very good lesson learnt, weren't they? Took this picture with coach Raddy after the game (Many thanks to the gentleman, who took this shot, I'm sorry that I forgotten to ask your name.. but I appreciate your help :)) Coach Raddy always mentioned the Uzbeks are playing a different style of football and they did (seen what fast they slammed three more after we levelled?). On a few occasions, our players actually waiting for the possession and not fighting fo

Instant Reaction: Saudi Arabia 2-0 Singapore

It's not your typical business suit outfit When the Saudis scored the first goal of the game in the 38th minute, the first question that came to my mind was - Was Lionel too quick to come off his line, thus caused the confusion at the back and allowed the hosts to snatch the lead? While the second goal by Saudis was a well-taken "turn-around" shot (but too much luxury was given at the edge of the box then) Frankly, kudos to the Lions for holding up well against the Saudis but both Noh Rahman and Indra's yellow cards looked silly to pick them up. Skipper of the day - Lionel Lewis Jiayi on the ball... Nonetheless, it was a great relief to be able to catch the match (telecasted by the Saudi broadcaster) via the "TVANTS" software (thanks to the tip-off from fellow fans, who were clearly also pissed-off by the "no-RIGHT" MediaCorp). The importance of having two source to verify the scores (I learnt my lesson) I would say the "TVANTS" may not

Instant Reaction :Jordan 2-1 Singapore (admended)

Was told that the Lions played the game under a freezing condition... Gggaahhh!!! I guess the only concern now is whether the team can make it in time for the Saudi showdown?? At least, rest assured we can fly to Riyadh without any human-made hassle unlike the Palestinians then :P... Anyway, got the result via http://www2.spbo.com/live.htm ... you can't fault them when playing under an unfamiliar circumstances (unless like they did again the Omanis) For those of you punters outhere, I'm pretty sure you know this site But this morning (1st Feb), I woke up to realize that I made a BIG blooper (as refer to the " cut out above" above)!! As I realized the score was actually 2-1 to the Jordanians (damn!! it's another major case of embarrassment in a space of a week in my blogging career) A check with the official source (above) confirmed everything.. Sorry for the wrong info provided ... millions of apologises..

Instant Reaction: Oman 2-0 SIngapore

Image from FAS website Which is why there are humps and restrictive strips along a straight road, this must be the logic, eh??

Instead Reaction : Kuwait 0-2 Singapore (admended)

Image courtesy of FAS website It's just the beginning of the whole process. As always, let's not too carried away over the win against the Kuwaitis , thus lost our focus. Keep up the good work... Majulah Singapura ... Well done Guys!! (P.s: Many thanks to Ronin, for pointing out the mistake...)

Instant Reaction : Reality Bites!!

I'm not sure things would have been different if we are in the final of the SEA Games.. only found out that Channel 5 was delay telecasted the match that I managed to source that Vietnamese TV was showing the game live!! But sad to say though, the VTC, must be pissed with the fact that their much-touted side was thrashed by us , that halfway to the second half they decided to switch to volleyball instead!! So much so that I had to rely on the KallangRoar.com for the update, after another alternate source was unavailable (Thank you guys).

Instant Reaction: Longest 5 minutes...

The final score : 1-1 Yes, that was the longest FIVE minutes in my life... The elusive dream is still within the reach as the strong determination saw the CUBS (even Mark Richmond got it wrong by calling them - Young Lions!!) through to the final-four to the SEA Games football tournament. Keep the spirit up!! CUBS... (P.S: will not be able to catch the showdown at home but hope over in Chiangmai instead..hehehehe) The ref finally blew the whistle-What a relief! Agu (no.21) redeemed himself by scoring the equalizer, joined in the merry making!! Dejected Malaysian custodian - speechless!!

Instant Reaction - See what I mean??

(Prelude: I am not sure if I'm right to say veteran media personnel Hakikat Rai shared the same sentiment after the dull draw last weekend, having reading his comment on "TODAY" this morning - pictured below.) I'm sure most of the folks out there are pretty skeptical about our chances against the "mighty" Vietnamese.. After all, who can blame some of you for having that though when you up against one of the in-form teams of the region. Anyway, the result (after some final scares) spoke for itself.. Keep on moving boys.. With some of the audience catching the game at J8's "Best Denki".. Could only catch the last 20 minutes of the game because I just knocked-off Hassan Sunny was the hero of the evening but can't blame him for his inability to stop the PK. Enough said.. Keep up the tempo..

Instant Reaction: it's always the case, guys..

(Pictures from TV...) Nice stadium, giving that nice "kampung" feeling... I can't really image what would happend if the lately under-fired terrestrial MediaCorp did not beamed this game over Channel 5. After all, when was the last time we saw the any of the Singapore team on free-to-all channel , be it the national or the U-23 teams? Coach Raddy at the top of his voice.. Anyway, the commentator of the match (who is it, anyway - Bernard Lim?) kept stressing the disatrious outcome if the game ended in draw.. (man, this is pretty annoying) though the biggest drawback was his failure for calling the team - the LIONS, when it actually they are the CUBS. Other than that should we forgive for calling Isa Halim as "Mohd Isa" and Jantan Jumaa't instead of Jumaa't Jantan.. As this is not the first time the CUBS starting off in this manner, I keep my opinion WIDE OPEN.. but just don't come back straight after the Official Opening ceremony, CUBS!! End of th

Instant Reaction: Shut Up your lot!!

Yeah.. just shut up.. no a single word to be uttered from your fifthy mouth!! Those of you who thought we could not make it this far.. what do you have to say?? SHUT UP - stop dishing out the inclusion of foreign-born players theory, only narrowed-minded lot would keep harping on it.. SHUT UP - stop saying we are just plain lucky!! We made it after all. don't we?? SHUT UP - If you think England is great but we are through the next stage on our OWN merit and that's the FACT!!! Of course, we shall not get too carried away as this is just the begining of the whole journey to South Africa. Some breathing spaces are required but simply don't mess it up because of all the euphoria that would come along..

Instant Reaction - Hey the season is not over yet!!

Hmmm... yes, this is the match that's gonna decided who is going to be crowned as the league champions BUT to term it as a season finale (as listed on the TV listing of "The Straits Times") sounded not so appropriate. As the Singapore Cup Final is scheduled next Sunday, thus completed the whole season. wouldn't it be better to sound THAT as the "season finale"? Anyway, different people different interpretation ...

Instant Reaction: Alright , I eat my words...

How irony, they must have expecting a big turnout but with the admission priced around 50% higher, that's "Gajah Putih" for you Ok.. Ok.. Alex Duric was great against the Tajiks... At the age of 37, he shown he still has it and proved it!! (must have read my previous blog entry?) With two goals to mark his international debut at the "Grand Ol' Lady" - National Stadium (Heaven knows when it's gonna tear down!!).. All I can say I eat my words.. All the best in the return-leg, Guys!! (P.s: Duric claimed the honour of being the last goal scorer at the National Stadium - to be confirmed :P) Some Pictures along the way The game banner at the Lobby. I think most of the media were struggling to figure out what the Tajiks translator (the first gentleman on the right) trying to translate the thoughts of Tajiks' coach. Whereas, we are more or less accustomed to coach Raddy's accent :P

Instant Reaction: Thailand 1-1 Singapore

(image taken off TV) We did again.. All I can say is "DAMN YOU THOSE WHO SAID WE CAN'T MAKE IT AGAIN!!".. DAMN YOU FOR THE FACT THAT, YOU GUYS ONLY APPEARED WHEN THINGS ARE LOOKING GOOD AND STAY AWAY WHEN THINGS ARE BAD.. DAMN YOU FOR THE FACT THAT , YOU GUYS ARE NOTHING BUT A BUNCH OF PATHETIC FOOLS BY NOT BELIEVE IN YOUR COUNTRY~~ ALL I CAN SAY IS - DAMN YOU LOTS.. DAMN YOU!!

Instant Reaction:Malaysia 1-1 Singapore

Bag of nerves - should be the best phrase to describe the Lions' first-half performance at Shah Alam. Fortunately, they managed to regain the composure and put up a much better display in the second half with "Ah Long" (Noh Alam Shah, pictured on the left with the blogger) headed home the equalizer. The talking point should be sending off of skipper Aide Iskandar (pictured on the right with the blogger) initial sources claimed the skipper returned to play without the ref's permission) and Lionel's leg that saved the game for us.

Instant Reaction :End of the Road

We tried but just not good enough. Let's move on and stop all the finger pointing. See you guys on the 15th Nov to complete the fixture .
