YAaaawwwwwnnn......at JBS

What would I be doing at JBS (having waited for nearly 2 hrs for this err.. pedatangs encounter between Albirex Niigata and Dalian Shide) now when Chingay is ongoing?? The match wasn't really that great... Was this the outcome of such a you-know-what-I-mean outing? Certainly hope this cameraman has done his job to point out some short-comings of the match. As for me while trying to endure myself to this game, which eventually saw me blog this entry (thanks Gary, for taking this shot...hehehe)

真“笃x”...(it means "Pissed off", sorry for my language)

P.S: The long festive season gave me a rare opportunity to do some visual adjustments to this blog, as such you might have noticed some changes in the font "face" and colours , and some "out-of-the-box" postings like this. I was on my way to a house visit near the site of my old secondary school, Pei Dao Secondary School (now shifted to Punggol and renamed as Punggol Secondary School but still retained its Chinese name “培道中学”). Been told by my buddy about the astro-turf pitch inside the First Toa Payoh Secondary School's premises (the current occupier of the site that used to be Pei Dao's, having shifted from Toa Payoh Lorong One), I can't help but feel a bit “笃x” ( DL in Hokkien, need not for me to elaborate )... after I saw the splendid turf. I recalled the days in my secondary school that it's seems as if football was an "outlawed" sport with all efforts being given to volleyball (can't be help when the six-a-side net and ball game

Match Day Ritual (Bedok)

It must be a struggle whenever I wanna mentioned something what you can do prior the match, within the stadium vicinity. You see, the problem arises from the collective town planning in the early days that the authority had "cloned" the "town center" similar to one another. In this entry, I went to catch Geylang played against Police SA yesterday, and at meantime take a look what Bedok have to offer (nothing much as far as I concerned...Sorry to you, Bedok residents :P). Click on the "Google Map" for a bigger picture HOW TO GET THERE... the bus interchange , well-connected around the island.. ..or the MRT (fairly accessible though) ..or you want to opt for this "premium" service - TAXI WHAT TO SEE... The hawker center, which is located beside the bus interchange, is always packed with people eager to fill up their stomach. If time allow.. give a try to sample the "Mee Rebus" by this stall named "Inspirasi". Like any heart

Match Day Ritual (Jalan Besar)

This is the "replacement" version of the same named article which I deleted by mistake. It's about the short write-up on what to expect around Jalan Besar Stadium on a matchday, when you still have some time to spare before the start of the game. Some of the Pictures took Sungei Road aka Thieves' Market, when bargain hunters gathered to hunt for some hidden treasures in the pile. As you can, Jalan Besar is the hardware emporium of this island, thus you will find any fancy shopping centers within the walking distance (unless, you don't mind Sungei Road) This sign put up by the National Heritage Board provided a detailed write-up of the history of the game's headquarters in Singapore. ..Although, sometime you wonder if there's all that necessary to have a swimming pool just beside a stadium like everywhere in Singapore?

西游记 (Journey to the west)

Prelude : "Ok, ok... Let's just say if I'm resident staying in western part of the island, I'll find it FAR too , to travel to Toa Payoh, if the national team choose to play in the central region... Fair?" So, Jurong West here I come... Fear the idea of getting stuck in the train jam, so I thought it was a safer option to book a cab (oh well, sometime you really need to spend to avoid any mishap.) Hmm... Your typical SSC stadium, which is not always football priority. The MRT viaducts (or commonly called "tracks") should serve as a good marker, if you intend to make your way to and fro Boon Lay MRT station. (P.S: the tracks are meant for the Boon Lay line extension, which scheduled to be ready in a year time) Both teams warming up for the fixture.... Crowds were streaming in slowly... The cameras getting ready...The handshakes prior the start, after the national anthems played. The western folks certainly appreciated what they saw (at least we drew again

Match Day Ritual (Bishan)

I think it is a fun idea to detail what we, football fans in Singapore, would normally do before heading to the ground. Maybe, here's a try at Bishan, right across where I lived. (Picture above the description.) First and foremost, meet up with your friends at the Bishan MRT station. If you guys think it is still too early to be part of the white elephant, "Junction 8" is always a good choice to hang around, settle your "makan" at one of the many eating outlers inside this shopping mall. If you think the price is not right at the mall's eating outlets. The coffeeshop, right above the bus interchange, would offer you guys a better option. Still too early for you guys? The newly-opened library is just next door (but warning to you all - it's pretty noisy at times despite being a library!!) But the sunse, it's time to head to the stadium via this slope... Aren't you guys relieved that you filled up your stomach by then? So as to avoid those blan
