at the tunnel...

Both Woodlands (in Blue) and SAFFC (white) players heading their way out of the tunnel. It is not very often I get a chance to be at the tunnel right before the teams troop out to the field. I was at the Woodlands Stadium last night, shortly before the guys were making their way out to the pitch. Some friendly gestures like handshaking, tapping and pat on the shoulders, some pleasantries were made among the players (unlike that fight in the tunnel between Man Utd and Arsenal years back!!), who, after all, know among themselves each other pretty well. Among those whom I met was Woodlands' Korean star Park Tae Won. But he was not featured in that game as he is still nursing a calf injury, however he did mentioned that he should be ready for the Rams' next fixture.

Update on Park Tae Won

Got an update from a friend, who managed to source that the wounded Park is already discharged from the hospital (as mentioned in the SMS snapshot below). a snap from "TODAY" depicted the situation then... Get well, Park.. we still desired to see that terror that rules the flanks..

Shame on you lot, for those guilty ones at Woodlands Stadium...

Yeah.. Shame on you lot!! Imaging an injured player currently fighting for his life now in the hospital, being subjected to some crude, low-class insulting remarks by some idiots at the stands. For those of you, who were guilty of making some remarks, you ought to be SHAME for yourself.. I certainly hope you aren't a parent of some kids, if not, you will definitely regret for what you did just now at Woodlands Stadium when the day come your kids make such remark on someone laying motionless on the ground. Credits to the stadium announcer and the relevant officers for calming down the situation.. May the injured player - Park Tae Won get well soon.. My sincere thoughts and regards to Park, his family and Woodlands Wellington FC.

Rams Gutted...

Thought should have this post updated last night but it was late and tired after reaching home from Woodlands at around 11.30pm. The rain was pouring prior the start of the match between Woodlands and Tampines that the referee decided to push the kick-off to 8pm. Anyway, the match concluded without the repeat of last year's "walk-out" (Thank Goodness) But I just can't help but feel sorry for the Woodlands Rams, for the second time in four days, undeserving drop some crucial points. At CCK last Saturday, the last 15 minutes of madness saw Woodlands threw any at least a point against the defending champions - SAFFC. While last night, while they thought they might be leap-frogged to fourth position but only to see Tampines levelled the scores with the last kick of the game from their badly exposed left of their defensive wall. Hard luck men but these are the mistakes you guys shouldn't made... Bear that in mind :P

End of Saga

The Good Times - Singtel League Cup winners 2007 The saga began... The punters' complaints Blasted by the media as well... The verdict The aftermath - inputs from all quarters A fine of $30,000 in total... Ok, end of the story full stop Just to say that it's pretty odd to react in this manner when you still had 30 minutes to rescue the game. By walking out of it, totally made no sense and gave an impression of "giving up too easily". What a letdown.. :(

Simply out of luck.. Dolphins

Waiting for the arrival of the Guest of Honour I'm sure those who saw Sengkang Punggol's road to the pre-season SingTel League Cup would agree that their luck simply ran out when and where it mattered the most - the FINAL. Who would blame them for beaming that confident smile when they were up against the northern powerhouse - Woodlands Wellington. Alas, things went according to the script, and handed the Rams their deserving first major trophy win since the league started in 1996. The crowds at the ground anticipated an epic, which was not the case Formality before the start of the game - shaking hands Woodlands finally clinched their first major trophy, before the start of the season
