Friendly: Balestier Khalsa 0-1 Geylang United

I was late for the game anyway when the game, officiated by Abdul Malik Bashir who was recently praised by the AFC President Mohamed Bin Hamman , was delayed for 20 minutes or so due to the downpour. It was a goal-less draw at the end of first half and when the second half resumed I decided to position myself at the back-of-the-net of Balestier's goal and saw the "soft" goal scored by Geylang's skipper Noor Ali. PICTURES FROM THE MATCH The last two pictures were "close-up" from the originals which are why they may appeared to be "blur". "BONUS" Video Added a short video-clip from the match.

Bet a lot of you are looking for this....

highlights of the much-anticipated match between the Brazilian Olympics team vs the Singapore Selection. Many thanks to " farissen " for allowing me to post this clip from his YOUTUBE directory.. (P.S: is Jo the scorer of the elusive "last goal"?) Little did I know that I was being quoted in a Brazilian football website ( http://www.trivela.com ) as depicted below (in Portuguese). Only then, I recalled this particular Brazilian journo, who earlier seek my help before on an article in February , emailed me for my opinion on the Brazilian training tour. Other than myself, Woodlands' coach Jorg Steinebrunner was quoted as well... (P.S.: the link of the story, in Portuguese of course, "http://www.trivela.com/Futebol.aspx?secao=7&id=19457")

Bring back the "Semangat"?

Got to know there's this movie about Singapore football "Kallang Roar the Movie" that is gonna hit the town soon. I'm sure it's going to be definitely better than the slapstick - "One Leg Kicking" ( graded 3.6/10 as on 30th June by "imdb" ) Here's the trailer clips as forwarded to me via my " Farewell to Kallang Roar " clip Part One Part Two Must have bring back a lot of Good Ol' Memories eh? (P.S.: and Uncle Choo's scolding too!!)

Product Review: Nike First Touch II FS - Varsity Royal

(P.S: This is my first attempt in writing product review, opinions expressed below are sole personal from the blogger himself , without any form of interference from whosoever entity or individual.) THE FIRST IMPRESSION "Wow!","Striking!" - those were the reactions from my friends upon the unveiled of " Nike First Touch II FS - Varsity Royal" (as illustrated above). The first impression of this footwear is the eye-catching glossy royal blue coloured leather top. Cushioned padding around the ankle area of this shoe is critical, as twisting and turning revolving the ankle is a common motion when playing futsal. Although it fitted in nicely, it's bit tight, however just right (some players would prefer a little more room for the feet, rather than being tight-fitting). As this is not your typical conventional soccer boots that are fitted with screwed or moulded studs, I think these shoes also make an ideal footwear for your daily outdoor activities. THE &

What a fiery end....

The mock background at the lift lobby of JBS In the end, Gombak United claimed their first major trophy since joining the S.League with two goals from their "Golden Boy" - Gabriel Obatola in the Avaya -J & J League Cup Final. While Jeon Byung Euk's stunning equalizer levelled the scores in the second half, the match was concluded in a fiery manner which saw three players being sent off. Personally, I wasn't impressed with Bulls' 'keeper's "playing with the fire" antics that triggered the mess towards the end. SOME PICTURES FROM THE LEAGUE CUP FINAL The Super Reds spared no effort to hype up the support by roped in K-Pop artistes from Korea and the fans luv it, of course A video clip of their performance. Gombak coach Swandi Ahmad (center) shared his thoughts after a fiery finale.

Instant reaction: the thrashing by Uzbeks

No doubt, it is setback for the dream. The Lions were sent crashing back to earth by the much superior Uzbekistan side. But isn't that football ? Before the "FLOODGATE" open.... Hey, I'm not finding any excuse and I know some of you, sceptics out there, already have your knives sharpen to prove your "incompetence" theory had correctly predicted the downfall, that was aided by the fact the game was shown live on television for all to witness that. Looking at a bigger picture, the Lions were given a very good lesson learnt, weren't they? Took this picture with coach Raddy after the game (Many thanks to the gentleman, who took this shot, I'm sorry that I forgotten to ask your name.. but I appreciate your help :)) Coach Raddy always mentioned the Uzbeks are playing a different style of football and they did (seen what fast they slammed three more after we levelled?). On a few occasions, our players actually waiting for the possession and not fighting fo

Great start for the Warriors...Kit"CHUP" for Kitchee

SAFFC's warming up at their designated half Kitchee's warming up prior the game (does the floodlights match up to 2000lux?) Face it man, Kitchee (from Hong Kong) were never into the game when they faced SAFFC in this AFC Cup opener. It's not wonder they ate the humble pie by saying they would be happy if they walked away from Jalan Besar with ONE point at pre-match media session (was later told this was NOT their best XI due to import restriction for this tournament). Nonetheless, it was a relief for all of us at the JBS after AFC decided to have this fixture in the accustomed timeslot, instead of having it at 4.30pm (to compliment the 2000 lux ruling for the floodlights)! Kitchee's team manager, Ken Ng (with necktie) alongside with SAFFC's coach Richard Bok in the post match media conference Ken Ng, the team manager of the visiting team paid tribute to the Warriors during the post-match media conference. "SAFFC is a strong team" said Ng "Tonight

Not matter what

One shall never flare up in the game especially to those helping out in the game. Above-mentioned clip is a highlight of the Copa Libertadores fixture between Flamengo of Brazil and Nacional of Uruguay. Good Job by the referee.. Kudos!!!

Videocast: A "Closed Door" Event??

Was only aware of this AFC U16 qualifiers when a guy drop me a comment on one of the blog entries to enquire TV schedule of it.. (Thanks Barry :D) Was aware that today is the last day of the qualifiers, I decided to head down to Jalan Besar for a double-header. 5pm - East Timor vs Australia 7pm - DPRK vs Malaysia Much to my astonish.. the Timorese squad did not turn up for the qualifiers at all, so the 5pm game was scrapped!! (@#*&!!...) Anyway, hang around Jalan Besar area to kill my time before went back to the ground. Match pictures... (Above) Both teams having their warming up prior the start of the game, I would say the Koreans were more well-organized in their work outs. (Above) as the match went on.. it's not hard to tell which is the better of the two, as the Koreans were well-drilled in all aspects with the striped army struggled to keep pace.. (Above) Wondering how these guys got hold of the news that the game was scheduled on a lazy Sunday.. anyway, free admission.

Videocast: For you all Malaysian fans outhere...

I'm not sure why lately some Malaysian football fans came to this Singapore football blog. Only to realize they googled " Mokhtar Dahari " and therefore was linked to this blog. Anyway, for you Malaysian soccer fans outhere, here's something for you guys - a clip from "Youtube" 1986 - a year we, Singaporeans, rather forget.. with legendary Mokhtar Dahari scoring one of the most well-documented goals the Kallang crowds ever seen (against us , of course).

A Field of Dreams - Official Closing Ceremony of National Stadium

My journey to this event began with my early dinner - Nasi Briyani Ayam at the eatery, which is a short distance away from Kallang MRT station. As mentioned before, prior to the construction of the circle line, fans would "cut their way" through the old Kallang airport building (i.e.: the PA) Crossed the Nicoll highway using this bridge as shown here before reaching the destination. Still remember those "Fast and Furious" stunts along Nicoll Highway during the Malaysia Cup days? Not quite like the heydays of the 70s where these guys would pack the stands with their pulling power (a snapshot of the match between the Singapore veterans vs their Malaysian counterparts). Fans grabbing any opportunity to snap a few pictures of themselves as proof that they were there (including yours truly again, many thanks to Mr Henry Chua for taking that "dot-of-me" foto and the fan who helped to take the one with the ground as the backdrop of it.) Having a cup of "Tig
