The building now is a learning hub (I think) Each time whenever I walked past the building that used to be the clubhouse of Geylang United Football Club, I can't help but have that sense of pity and wonder if the Eagles could have made a good use of this one-time cinema located at Bedok Central. Can Delwinder (left) meet up with coach Raddy's (right) expectations? A few questions came to my mind after The Straits Times in its September 11 edition carried the story of national coach Raddy Avramovic lamented the lack of quality talents that spelt the dearth of supply to the national team in recent years. Such comment, of course, will never go down well with those will singled out the names like Ahmad Latiff Khamarudin, Jamil Ali, etc. However, coach Raddy highlighted the lack of young players in the calibre like Hariss Harun, who is ready to step into the international stage at the present stage when he was quoted as follows "Do you see exceptional young players? And if your clubs are not progressing in the AFC Champions League or AFC Cup, your youth players are missing out on part of the international experience." I shall not comment on the 2-0 loss to the Filipinos , since I wasn't there in the first place due to the work. At this point in time that whenever a result like this would cause a massive outcry , a name would always come to the picture and hailed him as the one and only hope for Singapore football. Who else but Fandi Ahmad  (pictured below) whom they have been crying for all these while to urge the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) to rope him in to replace the under-fire long-serving Serbian Raddy Avramovic? "Abang" is now with Johor FA Yes, we see him as an icon, a national hero, a living legend, and a messiah, who will lift us out of the doldrums (as many would feel this way for being who he is). Yet, do we all think it's fair for him now? If we all love and cherish him, please don't let our selfish acts taint his legacy and we have to ask ourselves if we are doing anything right in the first place to get him back as we did in 1993?
