Why Daniel And Farra Are Essential Now ...

Close to 25,000 watched the Causeway Challenge Honestly speaking, the recent Causeway Challenge fixture between Singapore and Malaysia shall go down to history as one of those anti-climax games in recent years. Apart from both teams used this friendly to finalize their preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup next month, it always not uncommon to have both the Lions and Harimau (Tigers) trying to claim supremacy over each other since both went separate way in 1965. "DAMP SQUID" Any match featuring these two nations would usually wipe up those chest-pumping patriotism sentiments on both sides of the Causeway, but the mood during the run up to the match played last Friday at the iconic National Stadium at Kallang resulted a much mundane affair. Perhaps much of that "damp squid" ambience have to do with ongoing misfortune that plagued the football fraternities of both sides. SEA Games Glory: Another Botched Attempt?

Coach Sundram is N9-bound Just a short entry on the thoughts after the news broke out yesterday morning that Lions XII coach V Sundramoorthy is set to join Malaysian club Negri Sembilan in November . "As I have said on several occasions, I am deeply appreciative of the support and assistance rendered to me by my management and colleagues at FAS." said coach Sundram in a press release issued by the Football

Up to Sundram to prove his worth...

The "Dazzler" - V Sundramoorthy was named the interim Lions coach  Let's not kid ourselves here and we know what is really going on, unless you are really out of touch. Don't get me wrong here that while the Lions done us proud in regaining the ASEAN football supremacy last December under tight circumstances, it did not bring us any closer within the likes of South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Japan, etc. At least for now, it will never, given the wide gulf of standard between the South East Asian region and the "big boys" of Asian football. Just like when we beat Malaysia in the pre-World Cup qualifiers play-off and earned us a spot in the group stages that ended empty-handed in the end , it was only the Suzuki Cup victory that restored that bit of respect from the public after months of wilderness coupled with skepticism.
