Delaying of S.League Fixtures Is a Frustration

I'm not mean to dampen the mood of everyone here, but I guess many of you out there must be disappointed by this time of the day when we are only made known of the opening round instead of the FULL fixture list of this season S.League.

I was actually staying up late waiting for the latest media release from the league authority to see if the full list would be made known before the end of the day, but only to realize it was only accompanied by the same list (i.e.: the opening round) posting on the official Facebook page earlier when they sent out at 9.47pm.

BONE OF CONTENTION

The delaying of the release of the fixtures had long been the bone of contention for many for the past few seasons with this year staying that course again (and we are talking about the S.League Version 2.0).

Hardly surprised to see my fellow blogger Antony Sutton of "Jakarta Casual" sharing his thoughts on this issue with the "Harry Potter" analogy.

Little surprise to see why it is not released in full detail ( wonder if they need to check the possibility of snowing in Singapore before the confirmation?)

(P.S: The picture featuring players from the participating teams with VVIPs - poor job by the photog in coordinating the shot, anyway)

  1. Things should hv been sorted out months before kick-off. And the Goutenffangeas issue should be dealt wif promptly. Year in & Year out things are settled or yet to be settled at th 11th hour... This was supposed to be a PROFESSIONAL league? -sigh-

  2. i want to ask sleague authority "how can we invite our sponsors, guests, even fans to the stadium to fill the stand, to make good atmosphere for the opening match in such a short span of time before opening match".

They, sponsors guests fans, are not free on everyday. They are busy. We should tell them the full fixtures ASAP to leave the date free for the match.

I want to know if there is a pro league which announces the dates of opening match just before the dates other than sleague. Everything is delayed. "whats sleague 2.0?" Firstly, 2.0 is such anachronism concept.

  3. Since 2003 s league have not been run like a pro league? Which foreign leagues do you see inviting foreign teams to join in their domestic league and cup and things just gets worse as times goes by.
